BMC is a fibre-reinforced thermoset compound with a dough-like consistency. It combines the advantages of thermosets with high flowability in the mould and allows highly precise parts at attractive material cost – typically as a replacement for housings and structural components.
Paste-like BMC thermosets are very frequently used to replace housings or structural components. BMC allows highly precise parts to be produced by injection molding, and material costs are usually lower than with other thermosets. Ultimately, the application and its requirements determine which thermoset makes the most sense.
